This policy explains how Override Software Limited (“we”, “us”) handles personal data on this website and in our Shopify apps. We are a company registered in England and Wales (company number 12370614), registered office 64 Broomloan Lane, Sutton, England, SM1 2PW. Contact: contact@overrideconsulting.com.
1. This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers or third-party fonts and scripts. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser user agent) for up to 30 days to keep the service secure and to diagnose problems. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website. If you email us, we use your message and email address only to reply and keep the correspondence as long as needed for that purpose.
2. Our Shopify apps
When a merchant installs one of our apps, we process data on the merchant’s behalf and on our own account as described below. For data about the merchant’s customers, the merchant is the controller and we act as a processor.

The app reads product titles, product images and your store languages through the Shopify Admin API and writes alt text back to your images. It does not access customers, orders or payment data. Subscription charges are processed by Shopify; we never see card details.
Deletion. When you uninstall, sessions and access tokens are deleted immediately. When Shopify sends the shop/redact request (48 hours after uninstall), we delete all remaining data for your store except the anonymous trial hash described above. Customer data requests and customer redaction requests from Shopify are answered, though the app stores no customer data.
Artificial intelligence
To write alt text we send the image URL, the product title (and its translations, if any) and your style settings to Anthropic, PBC (Claude API), which acts as our sub-processor. No customer data is sent. Under its commercial terms Anthropic does not use this data to train its models, and retains API inputs and outputs only for a limited period for trust and safety purposes.

Transfers to the United States are protected by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum / EU Standard Contractual Clauses included in the provider’s data processing terms.
4. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Our database is not reachable from the internet, access is restricted to key-based administrator logins, and backups are taken daily and kept for 14 days.
5. Your rights
Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR you can ask for access to, correction, deletion or a copy of your personal data, and object to or restrict its processing. Email contact@overrideconsulting.com; we reply within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.
6. Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and, for material changes affecting app users, notify merchants inside the app.
